Meteorologically
speaking, most of the Baja Peninsula qualifies as "desert"
because deserts are defined simply as regions with little precipitation.
But desert is also a state of mind, a mythic landscape both longed for
and feared by the human soul. The desert bodes death, and transformation,
and hope.
